Info

Sydney cove was originally called Port Jackson and drew the 1st fleet of colonists and convicts further North instead of Botany Bay in 1788. The stunning harbour still does this today. Sydney was a family stop for us, staying up in Bayview in the Northern Beaches and catching up with domestic matters such as getting Australian driving licences, registering for medicare, washing, haircuts etc! It was also opportunity to spend quality time with Gee's sister and family - and reacquaint ourselves with our 4 year old niece, 1 year old nephew and their Staffordshire bull terrier! Our 'Welcome' by all of the Maher family continues to be as warm as the 1st trip (this is the 7th!) and it is always a very easy and enjoyable place to be. (Thanks Guys - see you soon!) However, even after numerous trips to the city, the relaxed laid-back attitude still attracts us back time after time. It is a revelation to be able to drive into the city centre on a Sunday, pay a few $'s to park and be able to access all the sites of the guide books. The harbour area is still magnificent and to sip on a chilled Sav. blanc, watching the sun set behind the harbour bridge is a privilege.

The Gallery

Captain King & Assistant Captain Kirkham. A spot of WINTER afternoon sailing around Pittwater, in the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

Able Seaman Kirkham!

The iconic landmark of Sydney Harbour Bridge. Didn't manage the bridge walk this time, but....

The equally iconic Sydney Opera House - oh, and Nee too!

The only thing missing is Billy Connelly!

A winter sunset - you can see the relection of the harbour bridge over the opera house.
