Noosa

Location : 170kms North of Brisbane Population : 20,000 Located on the Noosa River, catering predominantly for the upmarket vacationer

Info

Noosa is split into 3 main communities - Noosa Heads, Noosaville and Noosa Junction, spread around tributaries of the river. Quite a holiday favourite with Australians and boasted lots of nice cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques. Also very popular with backpackers. Hit the 'Big Pineapple' on our way there - a much neater set up than the 'banana' at Coffs. Did an interesting tour of the pineapple and macadamia nut plantations. Also visited the Eumundi craft markets (every Weds & Sat) where George found his tatoo! Noosa Heads had some lovely walks - we decided to take the more energetic option of running the coastal route - a wonderful way to watch the sun set. You'd think with all these regular reports of running we'd be fit - however, the local temptations of food and wine are well in excess of our sporadic exercise regime! Ah well!!!
