Myella Farm Stay

Location : 125kms SW of Rockhampton Population :The Eather Family A farm stay experience on a cattle station

Info

Enter the Eather Family: Peter, Olive and daughter Lynne. Lifelong farmers whose attitude, enthusiasm and vision has kept them evolving with market changes and maintaining a thriving business. The farm stay part of their repertoire (aside from the 400 head of cattle, school bus runs, lunches for local trips) began in 1993 and can now accommodate around 20 guests for 1 - 6 day stays with all the modern day amenities anyone could wish for.

Once your watch has been removed, then it's kit yourself out and roll up you sleeves. Plenty of good home cooking to keep you going and lots to occupy your time: milking cows, feeding orphan kangaroos, horse riding, rustling cattle, chopping wood, riding motorbikes or quad bikes around the property - interspersed with camp fires, property tours, swimming in the pool or lazing in front of e-mail or a video! You are guaranteed to leave stiff, sore and HAPPY - an excellent few days with a remarkable family.

See www.myella.com for more information or the Lonely Planet Guide p521 or Lets Go p345. We were lucky enough to have this wonderful experience recommended to us - we can only do the same for you - should you ever get the chance!
