Metung & Lakes Entrance

| Metung : 314 Km East of Melbourne |
Population : 500 |
A tiny village set of a thin arm of land,
in the heart of the Gippsland lakes. |
| Lakes Entrace : 319 Km East of Melbourne |
Population : 5250 |
The unoffical captial of the Gippsland
lakes region, the largest inland waterway in the Southern hemisphere. |
Info
Metung really was a hidden jewel and not a tourist hotspot. It appeared to be
a popular holiday retreat for those in "the know". Love to go back and do some
lake cruises and explore in more detail.
Lakes Entrance was certainly more popular with main stream tourists but it
was out of season...THIS IS WINTER and the sun is shining!
