Lakes Tyers

June 2003

Location : 331 km east of Melbourne. Population : 350 (yes people!) A picturesque submerged river valley, with sand bar between lake and ocean.

Our view

A very unspoilt quiet location, with the campsite being on the edge of the beach .  Although having stuffed ourselves with the curry we never quite made it to the only pub/bistro called the Water Wheel. Next time maybe...

We actually made it out of bed before 7AM to take the sun rise picture. The beach pictured forms part of the "90 mile beach" and was a fabulous place to have a Monday morning jog (yes we really did run along the beach and were the only people for as far as the eye could see)...certainly beats blasting up the M6 at the crack of dawn on a Monday for work.

The sun setting over Lake Tyers on a typical winter's evening.

Another fine dish being cooked up by my good self. This one had an Indian influence and contained the best ingredients I could find...well, all that a bottled Pataks sauce can offer! Still it was bloody welcome I can tell ya.

Nia modelling next to the curry...You should see the topless ones! Also note the very classy wine goblets (courtesy of Neil and Em) and the crushed velvet window curtains, i.e. the blue towel drip trying in the background.

Sunrise @ Lake Tyers

And would you believe it, we were up before 7AM to catch the sun rising behind the morning clouds. I particularly like the lone Pelican Crossing!
