We camped a night in Wycliffe Well - where most of the UFO sightings in Australia have taken place - as you can see below, we were not disappointed! Bizarre!
We then visited the Devil's Marbles the next morning, after a night being serenaded by the persistent 50m roadtrains hurtling along the Stuart Highway. The marbles are giant 7m thick granite boulders, balanced precariously on one another, due to wind erosion scientific schools of thought have declared. Local Aboriginal lore says they are the eggs of the rainbow serpent that lie amidst scatters of snappy gum and spinifex, part of the Dreamtime......you decide.
This was also spookily close to Barrow Creek, where the British tourist Peter Falconio disappeared. Luckily, we all resisted the urge to repeat the unfortunate event.
