This was the 1st time we'd been back this far North since our
1st visit to Oz in 1995. Not a great deal had changed - still lots of activities
for tourists - lots more hotels and restaurants, an improved waterfront and
still the offering of scuba diving, bungy jumping etc. that we enjoyed the last
time. Cairns is very touristy, but just north are some wonderful beach-side
resorts, such as Palm Cove.
We were lucky to spend an excellent evening here with friends
of friends, Christine, originally from Burnley and Mark from Liverpool. We had a
terrific welcome and an outstanding evening with them! Cheers guys! We'll
hopefully see you again soon!
