Near the NSW/Queensland border, Bald Rock, situated in a National Park of the same name is the largest exposed granite monolith in Australia. There is a steep walk up to the 1277m summit, but well worth it with a 360 degree view at the top, including the McPherson Ranges and the Clarence river. Took the opportunity to leave our autograph in the visitor's book at the top. If nothing else, this walk made us realise how unfit we'd become, so we had 10 days of fitness following this experience, in readiness for the better known rock - Uluru!
